Technical Information
This website is powered by WordPress, an open-source blogging system. This makes the site easy to update and maintain for individuals with relatively little knowledge of HTML or web design.
The template (site design) is based on Misty Look by Sadish Bala (sponsored by Reef Sandals). Use of the template in no way implies endorsement of WPThemes.info or Reef Sandals by the Friends of the Florissant Fossil Beds, Inc. The template was modified by Melissa Barton.
Several useful plugins help give the site visual appeal and functionality: RandomHeader by Kamiel Martinet, Sidebar Widgets by Automattic, Inc., and the Aksimet spam filter by Matt Mullenweg.

Acknowledgments
This site would not be up without the assistance of many people, particularly Steve Veatch, Jeff Brandt, Sally Maertens, and Chris Fleischhacker.
The idea for running the Friends website on blogging software came from Virgin Islands Archeology with the NPS and Friends. Park staff and interns sponsored by The Friends of Virgin Islands National Park update their blog with posts and photographs of park events and archaeology. Susanna Pershern, Museum Curator at Virgin Islands National Park, was particularly helpful in advice on setting up and maintaining a similar blog.
