The “Friends of the Fossil Beds” Board

for the Annual Membership Meeting

             Our event will begin at 11:00AM in the picnic area by the yurt. Please check in by the Visitor Center where the Friends will have a registration table. Nancy Anderson, owner of the Florissant Quarry on Teller 1 in Florissant will have her Fossil Bus there to do a program for us.   

            Please bring a sack lunch with drinks and dessert provided. We will eat about noon. Our Annual Membership Meeting will be held after lunch. Those attending will have an opportunity to meet the Fossil Beds staff and hear about the State of the Monument by Acting Superintendent, Marin Karraker.  We will then have our Board elections and the Visitor Service Award winner will be announced. A review of how the Friends have helped the Monument this year will be shared  including the establishment of the Vim Wright Legacy Foundation as a fund raiser with the Colorado Gives Foundation and John Wright. There will be an update on a $50,000 grant from the National Park Foundation.

             Come early to enjoy the Monument or stay after the meeting and enjoy a hike.
