Kyle Nardi

National Center for Atmospheric Research

Kyle is an Advanced Study Program (ASP) Postdoctoral Fellow within the Education, Engagement & Early-Career Development (EdEC) and CGD labs at the NSF National Center for Atmospheric Research (NSF NCAR) in Boulder, Colorado. Prior to joining NSF NCAR, Kyle received his Master of Science in Atmospheric Science from Colorado State University and his PhD in Meteorology from Penn State University. Kyle’s research aims to build a bridge between Earth system scientists and community partners. Kyle leverages Earth System Models (ESMs) to tell stories about how natural landscapes, and neighboring communities, are impacted by extreme weather events. Through engagement and outreach, Kyle seeks to partner with public land managers and environmental stewards to better understand how communities can prepare for local flooding hazards, in a variety of plausible future scenarios. Outside of work, Kyle enjoys finding growth (personal, relational, and spiritual) in nature.
